This sunday RP is playing as usual here at home. Right now - as happens sometimes - Bill has been serving a number of songs from rather varying genres (Toad the wet Sprocket, Nick Cave, William Orbit, Tori Amos, Ryuichi Sakamoto and Crowded House are among the recently played artists), but still fitting so well together.

Radio Paradise is a great place to find new music. Looking at the list of the highest rated tracks reveals the wide variety of music offered; the top ten list is occupied by Beethoven, The Beatles, Pink Floyd J.S. Bach and Jimi Hendrix, amongst others. I did find a couple of my now favourite bands here, most notably Porcupine Tree (that, as a side note, I find so amazingly good that it surpasses anything that I have heard before). Furthermore, it's commercial free. The money comes from listeners supporting the station by donating money or purchasing mercandise in the web shop. So don't hesitate; head over there, tune in, and don't forget to support them financially if you like what they do!

Update: as Jed pointed out, I missed to credit the person that made me aware of RP's existence, and that was Jed himself! Honestly: thank you for that, it has adeed value to my life :o)

Klipp & klistra

<trackback:ping>http://blog.eqinox.net/alcedo/services/trackbacks/1232.aspx</trackback:ping>

Sprang på en helskön video på Youtube. Liveplasma used to be called MusicPlasma and I have used that site some in the past to find new (to me) and interesting music. In short it is a search engine where you can enter the name of a band that you like and it will present you with a map (as displayed in the picture here) showing other bands that are more or less related musically. You can click on the other bands to put them in the middle and the map will update, showing bands related to that one and so on. The site also provides discography, you can listen to samples of their music (backed by amazon.com). And it also works for movies.

allmusic

<trackback:ping>http://blog.eqinox.net/alcedo/services/trackbacks/195.aspx</trackback:ping>

Not a very new site (though it recently got a face lift), but still very good: allmusic.com.
